What I Ate Wednesday

I don't photograph everything I eat. I eat every 2-3 hours. Hot damn, that'd be a lot of photos. And they'd all be pretty damn boring, because I tend to eat a lot of the same things. Last week for dinner I literally ate spaghetti squash + Gardein burger + guac every night. Most nights I didn't even take it out of the tupperware I'd prepped it in, because I was working.

So instead I have decided to compile some photos of the glorious things I've eaten since my last blog post (yikes, last Saturday).

*Sorry, I almost just fell out of my chair laughing. My dog is chasing a fly around the dining room table.*

Okay, back to business. Food. Photos of glorious food.

Not too pretty, but so tasty.

3 block dinner:
1 Gardein burger + 3 tbsp fresh avocado + 1 cup spaghetti squash + 1/2 cup broccoli

Turkey sausage and almond butter. Strange but so good!

Yes, that's a bagel! But not your typical carb-bomb bagel. In fact, one of these tasty whole wheat bagels has no preservatives or added sweeteners, a whopping 7g of protein, 18g net carbs and 10g fiber! Topped with 3 tbsp avocado and a side of Fage Greek yogurt, that's a square meal! (3 blocks)

It feels so good to sink teeth into a fluffy, yeasty, bagel. NOM NOM NOM.

The last time I ate a Blizzard, I almost felt hungover from the sugar and the carbs and the crap. And yep, same thing happened this time. Which is probably why I haven't had a Blizzard in ... I can't even remember the last time I had a Blizzard. Last year after my CrossFit competition, I think?

But wow, it's been BLAZING HOT here, and it sure hit the spot in the moment! Cold, refreshing, creamy, delicious!

What's your favorite "cheat" spot?
Favorite Blizzard flavor?

  1. Courtney your smile is gorgeous! LOVE that last shot! Also, I'm definitely envying you your blizzard. I don't miss yeasty things but ice cream has me in its sweet, cold clutches. #faileo

  4. Gardein!! Oh man, I am so glad to see you eating those - I try and eat pretty clean, and as semi-paleo as I can and still be vegan, and I eat Gardein about twice a week and always wonder if the high protein makes up for it's nature. Processed product, sure, but as far as those go these are less so - I keep going back and forth. This helped me internalize your message to not feel so damn guilty over what I eat - 70% of the rest of my diet is just veggies, nuts, and fruit. Have you tried Beyond Meat from Whole Foods? Even better macros than Gardein, but much drier and less flavorful.

  5. Favorite Blizzard is: chocolate with Reeses PB Cups...OMG and I haven't had one in forever, because like you I usually fell like absolute butt munch after consumption. Favorite cheat spot would have to be an all out cheeseburger with the works and french fries.

  6. Sausage and almond butter...might have to give that a try. I've seen crazier combos but if it has nut butter I'll try haha.
Haven't had a blizzard in a while for the same reason - sends my blood sugar up and down then comes a migraine so not worth it for me.

  7. Love reading your blog, it is always a source of inspiration :) What type of turkey sausage is that? I have trouble finding fairly "clean" varieties.
