Slavework

I decided this weekend was going to be 100% dedicated to homework. Suuuuuuper booooo, I know! WHY did I think it would be smart to take condensed courses over the summer!? I'm having my hiney handed to me.

So, no gym, no going out, no fun time. Just slavework homework.

Well, a little fun ... I can't help that I live with the best girl ever!

She rescued me from my life of servitude with a little Cosmo, salads from Chipotle, and Angry Orchard Hard Cider. The best, right?

To break up the work load, I've been setting my alarm for 45 minutes of work and 15 minutes of "rest" ... that's when I'm allowed to check my phone, Instagram, Facebook, etc. I also keep moving around ...

I started laying in my bed, then sitting at my desk, then the kitchen table, then back to the bed, now I'm on the couch in the living room ...

Anything to break it up. Like bedazzling my chalk container.

I've managed to knock a huge chunk of my 15 page paper out, along with chapters and chapters of reading, studying flash cards, taking quizzes, watching documentaries, preparing for midterms, and working on a group paper.

FML.

On a brighter note, I made a delicious Chia Pudding Parfait for breakfast this morning!

2 tbsp chia seeds + 1/2 tbsp Hemp Hearts, soaked in Unsweetened Almond Breeze (just until the seeds are covered). Then, let it rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes. I stirred in a few drops of liquid Stevia, cinnamon, and layered it with Voskos plain Greek Yogurt, fresh strawberries, chunky peanut butter and to top it off, a drizzle of coconut nectar.

1. What's your favorite use of Chia Seeds?

2. Smooth or crunchy nut butter?

3. Are you currently a student?

  2. I feel your pain. I just finished my first two classes (in 6 weeks) and I'm about to start my next two. All I do is study!! It's horrible, but it's kind of good to get it over with :)

  6. When my house turns to sh&t, I have to set the alarm for 15 minutes of cleaning, 15 minutes of whatever. Otherwise, it ain't never getting done! You can't cram it all in at once because it will end up being overwhelming! You've got this, girlie, keep it up!

  7. I feel your pain about schoolwork. I too have taken full loads 9 credits each for spring and summer semesters. Great job for being so dedicated with it. It's worth it! The Angry Orchard, my favorite! I don't like beer, but LOVE AO & even like Woodchuck Amber when I can't find AO. Never tried Chia seeds. Where can I get them? They sound interesting.

  8. I've never used chia seeds, but have wanted to! Smooth all the way! About once a year, I do crave me some chunky :) Currently a student, and currently taking a summer class. I feel like I'm dying from the inside out, and I wanted to take more than one class hahahahaha silly me.

  9. Love chia seeds, but that concoction looks amazeballs! Doesn't PB make everything better?

Used to think smooth was where it's at, but I accidentally bought chunky this weekend and I might be into it.

  10. This being my second degree, I'm trying to get things done as fast as possible. So, I thought it was smart to take two summer classes (in 8 weeks) along with juggling 3 jobs, being newly single, and trying to kick ass in the gym. I feel like I'm drowning! I'm just hoping to keep my head above water for another 6 weeks, and this will all be over! (And I will never take a summer class again.)

Not to mention that have 3 jobs, am newly single, and trying to kick ass in the gym. Only 6 more weeks and this will all be over!

  13. Love crunchy nut butters! I have still not tried Chia seeds. :( I am glad not to be a student any longer. It was a long road. Hope it's going well for you!

  14. I am about to go back to school for my MBA, so your posts are making me simultaneously excited and full of dread. Chia is okay; they freak me out, and I read that they aren't easily digested. Chia pudding can be pretty delicious, though. I made it with coconut milk and vanilla, but I think berries would be incredible all up in there. Chunky jif is my all time favorite, but I've been on the almond butter bandwagon... just not the same :(

  15. 1. I use Chia seed in my morning smoothie, which usually contains blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, vanilla protein powder, chia seeds, and almond milk.

    2. Powdered ;) Addicted to PB2, if I'm being a little naughty I go for crunchy.

    3. This is my first year not being a student. Have my B.S. in Biology, my master's program in wildlife didn't work out, but I will be pursing my nursing degree next year!

How is the Angry Orchard?? I've heard mixed reviews.
