I Didn't Know It Was a Crime

Lisa J's wins the Frog Fuel Giveaway! If you haven't, go check out this girl's blog - she is on a mission! And Lisa, when you get a chance, shoot me an email at petiteathleat@gmail.com (unless you already received my email). I can't wait to hear about how you use your Frog Fuel, girl!

On my way to class this morning, I tore through this delicious IsaLean Bar. I thought I was eating a piece of cake, seriously. It was my breakfast and ALSO my lunch, and kept me full and alert during lectures for almost 3 hours. Miraculous, to say the least.

Not so miraculous was the speeding ticket I got on the way to class, too. No bueno, no bueno, Courtney! Can you believe in the almost 10 years I've been driving, I've never been ticketed for speeding? I've been warned a time or two ... but never ticketed. Too late to knock on wood now.

I gave him my best shower of tears, went on about my grandma, maybe blubbered something about the hospital, but nothing! Man, this guy was a hardass. Maybe I should have offered him a bite of my IsaLean bar?

At least I had a great training session early this morning before I had to deal with all that noise.

And now I'm off to slave away on this Power Point presentation for my Social Welfare class. Joy!

1. Have you ever been pulled over? Ticketed? Successfully cried talked your way out of a ticket?
2. What did you have for breakfast this morning?

  1. I also got pulled over today; The Deputy just asked if I realized I was going so fast and I said "no, I was hurrying home bc my husband called me and said he left his bag of tools sitting in the driveway) Which was the honest truth.. He checked my license, and let me go with a warning - I also had scrubs on; the Dr. i work for gets out of a lot of tickets while wearing his scrubs. .. Sorry you got a ticket; I've gotten many tickets, but not in about 6 years.

  2. I'm 28 and have been pulled over 3 times (2x in California and 1x in Washington) One for speeding. One for going straight in a not obviously marked right hand turn lane and once because I was holding my phone on my steering wheel and the cop was convinced I was texting event though I wasn't. I swear. o.O The only time I ALMOST got out of it was for the texting one. My grandpa is retired LAPD and I laid that on the cop after the ritual 'do you know why I pulled you over' and me like a dumbass saying, 'I have no idea'... well after asking all about my grandpa and being convinced he actually was retired LAPD he started to give me a warning but then my phone buzzed (with a text) and I was stupid enough to look away from the cop to my phone. He then, mid sentence, switched gears and told me I was the kind of driver who killed children, handed me my ticket and was on his merry way. I cried buckets considering my 1 and 2 year old were in the backseat sleeping. It hit way too close to home.

  3. I'd be so afraid of crying my way out of a ticket lol I would think they would know or find out. I'm sorry it didn't work for you though :( Good luck with your powerpoint! I need to start to work on mine soon. Banana and some almonds :)

  4. I got pulled over in another state ONCE by a motorcycle cop (i dont even think they should be considered a real cop). I was terrified and cried my eyes out. He gave me a warning even though I was going about 15 over...
