I'm still here, I promise!
I wanted to make sure everything was 100% before announcing it the blog world, but I'm officially an upperclassmen at Texas A&M! I'm going back to school to finish my BS in Social Work.
And yesterday was my last day at work. It was so hard to say goodbye to these furry munchkins! With so much going, preparing for school and moving, it was the best decision, I feel so blessed to have worked for such a fun company, taking care of amazing animals. I'm still coaching at CF ATC, but just taking the next few weeks off.
I'm going to miss my morning runs with that goof ball!
Let's get caught up, shall we? Photos from the last few days ...
The Husband is on leave for the next few weeks, so we've been getting out WOD on together. This to me is the best bonding experience ever. Nothing like barbells, chalk and hand rips to bring a couple closer together.
My Husband tells me this is a skateboard. I call it a "How to: Break Your Ankle 101" tutorial.
Lucky me won this awesome KIND giveaway! I love the Almond Walnut Macadamia version, because they're high in protein, and relatively lower in sugar.
I discovered Kill Cliff is sold at GNC when I stopped in Thursday to grab a box of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Quest bars (Yes, I have an ENTIRE box of them in my pantry now!)
I saw this old guy checking out at the register, and he had 8 boxes of Kill Cliff! The only time I've seen Kill Cliff is around CrossFitters and during competitions. This guy was neither, so I had to ask him,
"Sir, why do you drink this stuff?"
He said, "It's the best anti-inflammatory. I had double knee replacement surgery, and I think this drink works better than the meds they give me."
Since I prepping to go under surgery myself, of course, I scooped up a few boxes of them! Couldn't hurt, right?
I've been making a lot of my own flour recently. I love the Rolled Oats from Trader Joe's! They're wheat and gluten free, and when pulsed in the Magic Bullet for just a minute or so, turn into a great flour for baking. This is what I used to make Jamie Eason's protein bars.
Because I was out of eggs (the recipe calls for 4 egg whites), I opted instead to make flax eggs. I'd never done this before, but kind of love them now!
I'm blogging from bed, look who joined me? I think he gets a little jealous when there's a computer in between him and I ...
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some breakfast in bed to demolish.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
1. What would your last meal on Earth be?
My aunt Patty's homemade pies or cobblers.
2. Do you sleep with your dog (or dogs)?
Yep! Guilty as charged.
3. Do you peel the skin off your Kiwi?
Ain't no body got time for that!
