My Boob Sweat Brings All The Boys to the Yard

You guys better hurry your tooshies up and enter the ViewSPORT apparel giveaway before it closes! Remember, tomorrow (Friday) at 2pm, Eastern time! I am so excited to see who the winner will be! (I'm using Random.org to generate a number!)

It's been a fantastic week, but I am ready and so excited for the weekend! James and I are headed here tomorrow afternoon until Sunday evening ...

The Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee!

It's going to be a weekend filled with making S'mores, ice skating, eating amazing food, relaxing at the Spa, we even have a couples cooking class booked, the theme being "chocolate" .... I die!

I won't be blogging this weekend, but I will be updating my Instagram and Twitter. I might also just turn everything off and unplug from the world. We aren't even taking Elliott, it's just going to be the husband and I, and not a care in the world ...

Highlights of the weekend include a new push press PR and matching my outfit with the equipment.

That takes serious skillz, yo.

I've really enjoyed spending the last week at CrossFit ATC. My heart is happy!

I am sweating so often, in fact, when I put the human clothes on, I kind of feel like an alien.

What is this scarf thing?
I can't squat in these boots.
Hold on a tick, this isn't a weight belt!

It's a good thing Scooby Doo doesn't mind me showing up to his house to walk him all sweaty.  Actually, he doesn't recognize me unless I'm covered in chalk and smell like boob sweat.

Have a great weekend! Keep your eyes peeled for the winners of the ViewSPORT giveaway!
Cha-ching!

1. Name one thing you're proud of that you accomplished in the gym, the box, your living room, this week?

2. One thing you're NOT proud of?

3. Last vacation you took?

  1. Got a new position teaching spin AND a training position at a new gym all in one week! :) I want to win one of those tanks SO BADLY! Your weekend away looks glorious. I actually can't think of anything I'm not proud of this week! It was a good one. ;)

  2. I had 2 PR's this week!!! 95# push press and 180 deadlift!! Not proud of finishing off a Whitman's Sampler dark BY MYSELF since last Friday. Last vacation was June of last year with my hub's family to Seaside FL.
Enjoy the Ritz. They are great at what they do!!

    1. Congrats! Two PR's in one week, that's awesome sauce! Hey, I polished off an entire jar of Sunbutter in 5 days ... no shame!

    1. Strict pull-ups are a BIG deal! You should be so excited! I recommend to all my athletes that they need to be able to string together at least 3 strict pull ups before learning to kip. Way to go!

  4. Your vacation sounds like it's going to be great! Enjoy! (I will mentally be there as well, and far away from all of the ice that my area currently has.)

This week, I finally got a kipping pull-up! It was my very first unassisted pull-up EVER. I whooped and hollered, and the folks that were still hanging around after the WOD cheered. Best way to start my week/Monday! And then this morning, I was able to string 2 together! I'm on my way to really getting somewhere!

Not so proud of all the eating I did yesterday. Snow day + Amish Friendship Bread that needed to be baked + roommate making cookies = tummy ache. So delicious, though.

Last vacation? Last summer at the lake over the week of the Fourth of July. No technology, just fun, sun, and relaxing!

    1. What is Amish Friendship bread!? That sounds fantastic!

    2. It's basically a sourdough starter for sweet breads that gets passed around. It's on a 10-day cycle, where you feed it on day 6 and then feed, split, and bake with the remainder on day 10. Then, you give your extra (usually 3) starters to friends with the instructions, keep one for yourself, and try not to eat the whole loaf [in one sitting ;)].

A great website for the recipe for the starter and a ton of variations (including gluten-free ones, I think) is friendshipbreadkitchen.com

  5. I'm proud of my killer leg workout last night, the fact that I signed up 2 new clients this week, and got my proposal (w/ commitments) for my Power Plyo small group ex class. Woowoo!

Not proud of the fact that I can't stop eating the trail mix in my desk.

Last vacation - well I took a mini vaca in October to warm the bones - 3 days. My last REAL vacation was last May to Paris. But no worries. We're going on vacation next Tuesday to the Virgin Islands!!! So pumped about busting out the bathing suit. AH! Can't wait.

P.S. CONGRATULATIONS on your PR. Those are always awesome!

    1. Congrats! Are you a trainer full time? What part of the Virgin Islands? That will be such a blast!

    2. Unfortunately, no not a personal trainer full time. I'd love to be...and that's what I'm working towards.

We're going to St. John. Have you been? It's amazing. Not resort-y, fancy, or touristy. It's mostly national park. Lots of hiking trails...in fact, most of the beaches you do have to hike to.

  6. I am proud of my Push Jerk PR at 98#, I am terrified of weight over my head, so it felt awesome to get a new PR! I am, however, not proud of how I've been slacking with school this week. Just no motivation! And my last vacation was over winter break when I went to Sweden for two weeks to visit my family and friends. Well needed! Enjoy your weekend off!

    1. Nice work on the jerk! A technical movement and a decent amount of weight, good for you! I too, was terrified of weight going overhead, for the first few months of CrossFit, I refused to swing a kettlebell, it was just too scary ;)

  7. Holy cow! That place looks ah-mazing!! The one thing I am super proud of this week is that I finally ran a sub 10:00 mile for 2 miles, does that make sense? I haven't run that in nearly 5 years. Training works yo!

Not proud of not being consistent with my yoga practice. I'm kind of all over the place, I can't seem to focus.

Our last vacation was a 7 day cruise with ports in Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel. It was the BEST time. And we went in January so we got to escape the dreary weather and work on our tans LOL

    1. I've never been on a cruise! What line did you choose? That sounds fantastic!

As a perk of being a CrossFit trainer, I'm also comped a free membership to the yoga studio next door. I need to start making it a commitment!

    2. We went on Royal Caribbean. They are FANTASTIC! I would recommend them to anyone LOL

  8. That vacation spot looks like a dream! I hope you enjoy! I feel the same about clothes, I feel like I'm always in sweaty workout clothes. My big accomplishment was 1.5hr bootcamp this morning and it kicked my ass. Definitely a good way to start the weekend!

I'm proud of the fact that even though Auntie Flo has reared her ugly head, I have stayed on plan with my eating :) Thank God for chocolate whey, almonds and casein! lol
I'm not proud of my debbie downer 'tude I had going on yesterday... but I blame that on the previously mentioned visitor and the NASTY weather...
Last vaca, we took the boys on their first cruise last October and we all had a BLAST!!!

I need to go enter that giveaway.... :)

Not proud of almost giving up during my last round of 12 push presses today.

  12. I think you should DISCONNECT for the whole entire weekend! It will probably feel awesome. What are normal clothes anyway? I think I may actually put some on this weekend and may even treat myself to retail therapy that involves buying normal clothes. High-Fives and enjoy your weekend getaway!

  13. Do you workout while on vacay too?

    1. I do! To me, being able to work out is a treat. A perfect vacation includes lots of free time to do the things I love: lift, run, do yoga, hike, cycle, etc. :) I just feel like my whole day is "off" on mornings when I don't work out. :)

  14. 1. I did a 130# farmer's carry, that was TOUGH!
    2. Not proud of the way I've been eating this week! Too much processed junk in the house I need to just throw away.
