Representing CrossFit 254 today and wearing a new bra from Avia I found at TJ Maxx. A little padding to keep the headlights from high beaming everyone.

Orange tie-dye and a racerback? For $14? Winning!

Post gym gloriousness: Green Goddess proatmeal. Though I will admit, it looks like a baby shat in that bowl.

Fancy nail polish and sexy calluses. This girl means business!

A few weeks ago, I picked up some Barleans Omega Swirl to take in addition to my fish oil.

I find that borage oil and flaxseed oil complement the additional fish oil I'm taking, and the flavor is seriously fantastic. And, I like to give a little bit to my dog. :) It helps keep his fur coat shiny and prevents dry skin. Borage oil is particularly beneficial for anyone with skin issues.

I had a long but fulfilling day with my favorite furbabies! I think I walked over 6 miles and ran another 3! It's so nice having running partners. My poor 10 pound Papillon just can't keep up. ;)

Do you run with a dog?
3 times a week, I run a little over 3 miles with them.

Do you supplement with any omegas? (Fish, borage, flax)
I take fish oil as well as this Barleans blend

Do you paint your own nails? Keep them long? Salon all the way?
I don't like doing my toes, so I go to the salon every few weeks for a pedicure. I'm a sucker for that massage! I hate having long nails though, like, ANY kind of nail that dirt can get under (weird OCD), so I clip them every 2-3 days, and keep them painted to keep them from bothering me. I used to bite them in high school, but after having solar nails for a few years, stopped that bad habit. ;)

  1. That bra is awesome! Killer find. Unfortunately my almost 14 year old dog isn't able to run with me :(
I take fish oil daily and I love it. I really feel like it's a miracle supplement. Good for everything!
I like to do my nails myself, only because I'm too cheap to get them done at the salon!!

    1. Aww! I look after a 16 year old golden and a 15 year old yellow lab. Even though they're not my dogs, they feel like it. Old dogs are SPECIAL! I love my senior citizens. ;)

  2. I've been curious to try that variety of Barleans.. so you convinced me! Other than that just fish oil. And love the bra! Been lusting after the orange & black striped wunder unders book looks like I was too late to get the right size.. bank account is happy about that :p

    1. Barleans makes a variety of tasty omega blends that taste fantastic for a pretty decent price. :)

  3. That sports bra is so cute! I'm jealous of your Lulu shorts too. It's pretty steep.
I don't run with my dogs, they aren't leash trained. My husband used to run with our female and she pulled him along b/c she's like a sled dog lol.
I take fish oil only. Thanks for the info on borage oil, I think I'm going to give the dogs that to help with their coat.
I used to bite my nails too. I stopped a couple months ago. So like you, it drives me insane when they start to breach over my finger tip. I have to keep clippers and a file near by or I will bite them. And I paint them myself, I can't afford to do the salon thing.

    1. If they're not leash trained, how do you walk them? My dog is pretty well trained off-leash, but I feel like our best bonding moments happen when he knows he's under my commands and I'm "pack leader" ... I'd be lost without the leash and the "tttsssst!" sound. ;)

    2. We don't walk them anymore because their too crazy (and we've tried leash training.) In the summer we take them out to a field and let them run free for a while and get some energy out. During the rest of the year, we throw the ball for them in the back yard. We have a large back yard so they have plenty of room to run. They also entertain themselves by playing chase so they still get a lot of exercise which is good.

  4. Colorful bra, i do my own nails because Im also too cheap to pay for that. I sometimes take fish. I was wondering if you take digestive enzymes? and what brand if you do? Have a good day tomorrow.

    1. I don't take digestive enzymes, but my husband has been having some issues. He's going into the doctor to get a workout up done. I recommended some to him, and after looking into it, am tempted to get some myself. I have a hard time digesting some protein powders and protein bars ... What do you take?

    2. I take Garden of Life Omega-zyme and i do take Jarrow probiotics before I eat breakfast. It does help.

  5. I run with my dog, Pippa every single day. I would love to do my own nails, but I'm just not coordinated enough!

  6. Love the bra! TJMaxx is the best. No omega supplements, just try to eat flax, chia, and walnuts daily! I do my own nails but had my first pedicure this summer and it was glorious! Will treat myself once spring comes. I like mine short too and I don't bite the nails but I do bite the skin, gross I know!

    1. I have never tried chia. I know *rolls eyes* I know! How do you eat them? I see tons of different recipes, they all look so good.

  7. I run with my lab/ pit mix, Darwin, every day now. It gets both of us exercised LOL He's middle-aged in doggie years so he needs it!
I keep my nails super short. I hate when they look dirty when they get long. Plus I have a toddler and a dog so long nails don't really last long in my house. I paint my own nails and toenails. Cheaper and I just can't find the time to go to the salon between house stuff and full time school.
I get super jealous of your gear! It's freezing right now so I'm running in old Adidas wind breakers and my old AF hoodies LOL At least I'm warm right?

    1. To and from the gym and when I'm out walking the dogs, I'm covered in old sweats! Head to toe! One of my favorites is a pair of black Army sweats the husband used to wear in Basic Training; 10 years ago!

  8. Such a fun bra! I don't have a dog right now (I'm in class literally ALL DAY), but my man and I have agreed that we're definitely getting a dog after we get married. Hopefully it'll be my buddy as well as his hunting buddy!

I have a hard enough time taking a multivitamin and biotin regularly- somehow, I'm never sitting at my desk when I remember, and when I'm at my desk, I haven't eaten recently enough. I like to think that I have good intentions, though...

I usually paint my own nails, but right now they are lookin' plain and ugly due to lack of time. I always manage to mess my nails up the same day as I paint them, but I keep trying anyway! I'm with you on the massage from pedicures, though. I'm already dreaming about one for after this semester is over!

(Also, I love all the dog pictures you post on Instagram! It makes me happy!)

    1. I totally appreciate that you realize the time commitment animals can be! Dogs need a lot of socialization! Shoot, that's why people hire me, because they're at work and need someone to exercise and play with their dog! ;) What are you looking into getting?

Have you thought about setting an alarm on your phone? I just feel "off" when I don't take them, like sluggish, almost.

    2. My boyfriend wants a Lab, and I just want anything that I can love and that will put up (and preferably enjoy) being my companion.

And that's a great idea! I've also been thinking about just getting a pill sorter, like a days of the week one, and just keep it with me since I'm usually out and about. Are there ay multivitamins you recommend that are gentle(isn) on the stomach? If I don't eat a huge meal, OneADay makes me sick :(

    3. I don't take a multi ... Too many articles saying they're related to cancer in women. But, I think chewables are a good option, or taking 1/2 of your One A Day and the rest a few hours later.

  10. Loving the burnout white with pink girly CF tank!

Yes, running with a dog is right. She takes me for a run (when I bring her out to go with me). She's a fast little beast, so I can only keep up with her for a couple miles. Otherwise I might die. :)

I'm on and off fish oil. I'll take it for a while, then drop off and pick it back up.. Its bad, I know.

I do my own nails (toes and fingers). Its too expensive to go to the salon, especially when I have other things I'd rather spend my money on. And I don't like my fingernails peaking up over my finger tips, either.

  11. i use to run with my dog, now we just run around the house everyonce in a while since her hips are bad.
i don't take any supplements, but now i wish i did! once i'm done with school and get a job i will fo sho!
i do my own nails (fingers and toes). i do the whole manicure and pedicure (minus the massage) lol. plus i change the polish every week so that would get expensive. i like my nails short, otherwise they chip really fast :/

    1. Supplements are stupid expensive, so I feel you! Eating healthy really is your best way to get vitamins, minerals, good fats, anyways. ;)

  12. I normally walk with our 3 pups since they are well...a handful! a 4 little pounder, a tri pod, and a 40 lb. ADD shar pei! I love my sups! I take a multi vitamin, biotin, and L Carnitine in the AM and before workouts I take BCAAs and glutamine. I also take GABA before bed. I try to always cook with coconut oil and also get my flax seed and chia in daily for omega 3s! I'll treat my self to a mani/pedi every few months but man it can add up!!

  13. I walk with my 2 dogs, they don't really understand the whole walk in a straight line thing, so I'm constantly stepping over, through, or passing the leash around behind my back, over my head to keep the lines straight! We've tried running before, but it wasn't pretty. I do my own nails-I just can't bring myself to pay someone to do my nails for me! If I do have them done, it's usually for a super special occasion!

    1. Kari, have you tried a double-leash? It will change your life! http://distilleryimage2.s3.amazonaws.com/175d28b6697311e286b422000a9d0dd8_7.jpg Less than $20, and it makes up for itself over and over again when the walks are more enjoyable!

  14. right now i run with my 2 60# boxers 3 days a week...when this baby is born i'll have them and a jogging stroller... it'll be so funny! I didn't use to take any omegas, but i've taken the kid's gummy omega3 w/ DHA since getting pregnant lol i'm a sucker for gummy vitamins! At 7mos pregnant, I still paint even my own toes...it's like a guilty pleasure i love doing it, i even offer to paint my sister's all the time! i only use OPI, it lasts soooo long!

    1. I have a confession; one of the reasons I am most looking forward to having a baby is going for runs with a jogging stroller. When I first started running and racing on Fort Hood, there was this amazing 20-something mom with twin babies, and she won every single race, from the 5k to the half-marathon, whilst pushing these two babies in this lime green stroller. I swear, she must have had jet propellers on it or something!

  15. Do you wear a heart monitor strap with your watch every time you workout? I have a garmin but I am not sure if it will track my heart rate and calories burned for non-running exercises?

  16. Xylitol (which is in the Omega Swirl) is bad for dogs. Just wanted to let you know. Regular fish oil capsules or oils without xylitol are fine.
