Then it was off to work!

I said goodbye to Sally yesterday morning, I'll miss her! I have some new clients I'll be watching over the Holiday's, stay tuned for some adorable furbaby faces around hurr.

And of course of my baby. :)

Wow, it feels good to finally be home and have a weekend off, aye aye aye.

Last night the husband and I went out for dinner, drinks and live music at The Harbor Bar.

I had a half Cesar salad with grilled salmon, dressing and croutons on the side and a glass or four of chardonnay. We ordered a slice of peanut butter chocolate pie for dessert, and it was so delicious, we ate it before I got a chance to snap a photo. Perfection.

I woke up this morning and looked through the contents of my first Bulu Box. I wan't impressed at first, but think I'll keep the subscription for a few more months to see if anything more promising arrives.

I did try the FRS energy chews this morning while waiting for my coffee to brew. And before I knew it, the entire house was cleaned, the dog was walked, the laundry was folded, and it wasn't even 9am. They definitely put a little pep in my step! They contain natural ingredients, including niacin, very small amounts, but I can always feel niacin under my skin, especially my neck, it's that hot, itchy sensation. Does anyone else ever experience this?

Itching aside, I was inspired to make a breakfast of epic proportions. I think all of that cleaning got my appetite going, my stomach was growling!

A huge egg white, spinach and goat cheese omelet with a side of Fage 0% covered in a raspberry reduction and a drizzle of syrup. This omelet was the size of a small baby. And so good in my belly.

Lunch: chili grilled chicken salad covered in Trader Joes cilantro dressing and goat cheese, and a stewed tomato and okra concoction I whipped up in the cast iron.

It's a pajamas-hulu-watching-lazybutt-lounging kind of Saturday around here. On tap is The Mindy Project and The Playboy Club.

I hope you have a relaxing and fantastic start to your weekend!

Do you prefer to veg out or go out on the weekends?
Depends on how busy things were for me during the work week, but at least one day I like to just hang out and mentally take a break from everything. I'm kind of a loser homebody.

If you could pick one, Hulu or Netflix?
Hulu! I love the next-day shows, like Nashville and The Mindy Project.

And for everyone that responded to my last post,
crunchy peanut butter or smooth?!
crunchy, crunchy, crunchy!

  2. I'm such a homebody too. After working out hard all week and being up 5-6 am 6 days a week I am pooped and just want to watch some hulu (Nashville is awesome!).
I used to be all about crunchy peanut butter but right now I'm loving smooth :)

  3. I like the new header!

Unfortunately, it seems like I always have to be out and about taking care of things on the weekends. As far as peanut butter goes, I'm all about the creamy! Much easier to put on my food ;)

    1. Thanks! I started putting peanut butter in the fridge recently, which makes it yummier to just eat off the spoon, but impossible to spread!

  9. I'm glad you made your own drink at starbucks! I got in an argument with the guy yesterday because during their happy hour (buy one get one) they wouldn't include any of the "skinny" drinks. And there was no way I wanted one with a ton of crap in it! Also, I would pick Netflix. I LOVE hulu for the immediate things but I love getting sucked into a series even more. :)

  13. Hey Courtney...love your blog! I'm a PA and flushing is a common side effect of niacin, fyi! Taking an aspirin 30 min. prior or mixing it with applesauce may decrease or eliminate the flushing effect.

  14. I'm a major homebody. Call me grandma but I fall asleep on the couch by 10 hah! And yep, it's called a niacin flush and I am super sensitive to it too! :-D
