Yolk Porn, I'm Naughty

It's a beautiful day outside!

I have plans to run to the gym, get in a WOD, and run home in a little bit. I have blog work and intern work to finish this morning first, but in the meantime, I thought I would share one of my favorite breakfasts I've made thus far on the WLC.

That, my friends, is a big pile of Paleo French Toast. And it was so easy. Since, I didn't really make anything. :)

My cream came out a little runny, but I followed the recipe found here. (There are a lot of great recipes here!) I added a few bits of 100% natural unsweetened cocoa nibs, otherwise followed it to a tee.

Dairy Free Coconut Whipped Cream

Preparation
Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender or VitaMix. Whiz on the highest speed for 30 seconds, no more, no less. At this point, if you have one, pour cream into iSi whipper and charge. Before dispensing, refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight until well chilled. I don't have a fancy iSi whipper, so you can see why it came out a little runny, but still fantastic.

Otherwise, prepare your French toast as you normally would. I used an egg whipped with a little coconut milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract and dipped pieces of The Paleo Bread into it (that I toasted first), and let cook on medium-low heat for about 3 minutes each side. I topped it with a fresh raspberry reduction (frozen raspberries I just nuked for 1 minute), almond butter and finally, the coconut cream.

Delicious!

A fried egg was had on the side, too, in case you didn't quite notice that yolk porn. ;)

What is your favorite food for breakfast?
I love a hot breakfast! French toast has to be way up there at the top, but I think waffles are a close second. All those crevices for tasty things to get stuck in.

  1. Where do you get the Paleo Bread??? Do you order it online? I have checked Whole Foods (and a half hearted check to walmart - i knew they wouldn't have it) and haven't been able to find it!!! I would love to be able to put a little bit of bread back in my diet!!!

  4. I eat oatmeal or oat bran for breakfast every single morning. For that reason alone, I will never be Paleo! haha
I've tried other things for breakfast - eggs, fruit, toast, healthy pancakes, but nothing is quite as satisfying, comforting, or energizing as a huge bowl of oats! YUM
However, that French toast looks really damn delicious!

  7. 3 Researches SHOW How Coconut Oil Kills Waist Fat.

The meaning of this is that you actually burn fat by consuming coconut fat (in addition to coconut milk, coconut cream and coconut oil).

These 3 studies from major medical journals are sure to turn the traditional nutrition world upside down!
