I think I found a new Spin class that's comparable to the one I used to go to on Fort Hood. It isn't so road-bike based, more fitness based. Does that make sense? We do things like "up/downs" and "back/forward" with the rhythm of the music, which was FANTASTIC. I love it. Music + spin bike = hella good times. I think there were moments when the instructor was closing her eyes and clapping her hands, she was feeling the music. MY KINDA WOMAN. My kinda of class!
I jumped into Jane Honda right after, cruised to the box in Midtown, where I had about an hour to get the WOD in before coaching the Noon class.
I was loving today's WOD.
A. 5x3 back squats
Put my favorite Oly shoes on and my Harbinger belt, and got to lifting. I was still warm from the Spin class and well rested from yesterday's day off, so I knew it was going to be a good session. Weight looked liked this: 95 - 125 - 145 - 165 - 180 (plus 2 reps at 185, I just wanted to see ;)
B. "Mary" 20 min AMRAP: 5 handstand push ups, 10 pistols, 15 pull ups
I got 11 rounds, Rx'ed.
I still come up on my toes during pistols, but hey, folks do some ugly overhead squats on their toes, with bent arms, but as long as they break parallel and lock it out at the top, it's a rep. I just do mine on my toes! I'm working on my ankle flexibility, mkay?
I had so much fun coaching this class! My confidence is really starting to grow, thanks to my mentors and our ITP program, I feel like I really should be in this coaching role.
I've got some studying to do for next weekend!
A beer might be in order first. ;)
Are you celebrating Halloween this weekend?
What is your costume?
