Practice Mindfulness

I'm sore! So sore from Friday's workout (damn the DOMS), but I didn't realize how sore until I started laughing. Ohhh glute-ham developer! So, it got my husband and I talking about soreness. And the freaks that we are, our favorite kind of soreness.

He likes: Ab soreness from GHD's and heavy weighted lunge soreness in his hamstrings and butt
I Like: Trap soreness (from cleans) and shoulder/lat soreness from holding anything overhead or pullups.

Do you have a favorite kind of soreness?

I'm so ready to crush Week Two of the Whole Life Challenge, what about you guys? I feel like this first week was a little chaotic, trying to figure out what to eat, how to eat, how to avoid cravings, remembering to login, etc.

This week, my goal is to reduce my fruit intake. At least the higher glycemic fruits like apples, bananas, mangos, etc. I want to stick with mainly berries.

Our Weekly Challenge this week is to practice mindfulness. I am so excited about this Challenge!

Requirements:

For 10 minutes a day, engage in 10 minutes of reflection.

This can be writing in a journal, meditating, or praying. If you begin to notice your mind wandering, bring it back to the present.

I plan to do this every evening before my husband gets home and before I start dinner. I have my yoga mat laid out, candles set up and a yoga position ready: savasana.

If only I looked that cute.

Autumn candles mean only one thing: fall is here!

What is your favorite season?

  1. My favorite seasons are Spring and Fall. I just love all the changes that you can see up here in the north country. Sometimes, being mindful can really be the attention your body needs. I have had clients cry the first time they were able to quiet their minds and be present. It is a awesome experience.

What is "The 300" ?? The link isn't working for me in your header. Just curious!

My favorite kind of soreness is definitely shoulder, back soreness. Love it!!

  5. I agree...the first week was CRAZY for me. I'm actually kinda irked by it. I have high hopes for week 2! And now that I actually understand the weekly challenges, I'm excited to participate in that as well. Haha.

Fall is my favorite, by far. I feel pretty jipped though....I've lived in Texas 7 out of the last 9 years so I don't really get a true fall here!

  6. Uhm, we only have one season in Florida - hot. My favorite time of year is november/december. It doesn't get super cold her (compared to other states) but for this Fl girl it gets cold enough.

  7. Ab soreness from GHD sit ups is the WORST!!! I had sore abs from the move for close to a week once...it hurt to do everything. I would have to say I like being sore from any kind of weight lifting. Means I did enough weight :)
