Settling In

We made it to Atlanta! I have yet to meet Ludacris or Jermaine Dupri though. Apparently they haven't heard what rock star status my blog can elevate them to - silly boys. They'll call me.

So we've moved in, kind of. I'm not ashamed to admit we still have a lot of unpacking and organizing to do. I finished the essential rooms: our closet, the kitchen, the bathroom. Don't ask me about the living room or the bedroom ...

My excuse is that we need our storage closet to become available, so that we can get all of the husband's Army gear out, then I'll actually have room to set up the living room and finish unpacking.

For renting our new place without seeing it first, we were pleasantly surprised. We only had photos and communication with the apartment manager to go off of ... talk about butterflies when we turned the key to our new place for the first time without ever seeing it.

It's larger than our place in Texas, which has been a breath of fresh air! We now have 10 foot ceilings throughout, crown molding throughout, new wood flooring and new black Whirlpool appliances.

These bad boys are being delivered to their new owner at CrossFit Midtown tomorrow.

It was just the husband and I unpacking almost 5,000 pounds of goods out of the Penske. Thank the Lord we had an elevator, or I might have just lit everything on fire and called it good.

It happened to be one of the HOTTEST days on record in ATL when we moved in. Of course. We deserved a treat after unloading and Savage Pizza did not disappoint! (We have Yelp to thank for finding it.) Their Mai Pai pizza is cray good. And their breadsticks, lalalalaamazing.

We did make it poolside over the weekend. :)

The highlight of my weekend, hands down, the community WOD at Lululemon Howell Mill with Crossfit Midtown with the husband, and bomb diggity brunch afterwards.

We found this awesome restaurant called Urban Pl8. Do you see these Paleo options on the menu!?

Paleo Breakfast srcamble, anyone? I can't wait to go back for all of those some of those desserts. No really, who are we kidding? All of them.

Even at home, we've been eating like Kings and Queens ...

Gluten-free pancakes for the husband, thanks to this easy-peasy mix.

Plain Chobani & Oats

A whole rotisserie chicken from Las Brasas, anyone? Peruvian-syle food is crazy good. I'm obsessed with their Haincaina sauce, I've been putting the leftovers on my salad beasts over the last few days. It's mainly queso fresco, yellow peppers and a little fat-free milk. It's fuggin goooooood.

Greens, steamed veggies, chicken, H-sauce.

Cukes, toms, turkey bacon, turkey burger, soy nuts, H-sauce.

Grubbin!

I've checked out two new gyms since we've been here. I'm loving CrossFit Midtown, the husband and I are headed out there again tomorrow. I'm also on a free week at Core Body Decatur. I went to a Boot Camp with them yesterday and played around in their Rogue rack ...

I went back tonight for Spin. It was killer spin! 40 minutes of straight hill climbing, in the saddle. My poor taint.

My poor legs. This morning at Crossfit Midtown we worked up to a heavy Squat Clean single (130#) and 4x5 front squats (135#). Needless to say, my hammies were shredded after Spin this evening.

Felt really good to chalk up again. Those hotel workouts were killing me!

Thanks everyone who posted kind words about moving! Geeze, it's been such a pain in the ass, but we're happy to be here and happy it's *nearly* over. The husband is on leave for the next week and a half, so we're off to discover the city!

*I apologize in delays in Blogging, we just had Comcast out tonight to install our internet. I felt like I was living in the dark ages without it. How did we do it before?

  5. Publix doesn't carry it, unfortunately. Your best bet is amazon or a local nutrition place. You can look on the pb2 website to.see where they sell it...

    1. Hey, we actually randomly spotted their gym on our way into Publix this afternoon. One of the trainers is Army, so of course the husband and he got to talking and hit it off. We will be dropping in to check it out.

  15. P.S. I have seen PB2 at the Buckhead Whole Foods which means they probably have it at the Midtown Whole Foods as well. If not let the manager know and they will stock it for you. They are very good about that!

    1. Thanks for the pointers! We find ATL actually much cooler than Texas - where it's 103 and there is NO SHADE. ATL is so nice because it's so shady!
