Skinny Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

Oh, heeeey kids!

I ran the hardest 7 miler this morning! Thumbs up on still walking without the use of a cain or Hover-round. It was "barefoot" and sans music. I don't know how you guys do it without music. In case the sound of my haggard breathing isn't enough, it was still dark and I was running alongside the road on Fort Hood.

Not much to see. Motor pool, barracks, motor pool, random soldier, motor pool ... I'm just so happy I did it! I wanted to stop and walk so bad. My calves were screaming.

When I say barefoot, I mean I ran in either my Vibram Five Fingers or my New Balance Minimus (pictured above). I absolutely love my New Balance Minimus! But, I like them for shorter runs and Crossfit WOD's. When it's just a straight run (longer than 5 miles) on asphalt, I need a little more cushion for the pushin'.

Enter: My old man Gramps shoes. Holla!

By the way, those shoes are breaking in wonderfully.

After a hot shower and a pile of homework,
I couldn't resist the kitchen any longer!

Pumpkin and snickerdoodle - together? Can I get an AMEN. Moist, lightly pumpkin flavored, cake-light and melt in yo mouf. Can I also mention they're only 50 cals each? Skinny Pumpkin Snickerdoodles! Yes, I did it!

Yes, yes, yes.

Being the calorie conscious runner I am, had to "healthify" them from the original recipe. I still managed to sneak some butter in them, no worries. I love me some butta butta.

Recipe coming tomorrow!

What is your fall obsession right now?
Mine is pumpkin, fosho. I even had Pumpkin Custard Oats for breakfast and Pumpkin Fage with walnuts for lunch. No, def wasn't overkill that I had these Pumpkin Snickerdoodles for lunch/snack/dinner and dessert. I only ate about 2,323 six of them. ;)

I'm thinking about making these for the Blogger Bake Sale. Thoughts?

  3. Hi from a new follower! I'm making these this weekend! You can't go wrong with pumpkin! Love your blog.

When I started running I never ever ran without music. Now, I always take it just in case but rarely use it.
