Friday Fill-In & 10k in the Morning

Whoooo, happy Friday!

Today was fueled by chocolate strawberry oats:

1/3 cup instant oats cooked in water + dash of Almond Breeze + 1/2 scoop chocolate whey protein powder + blob of Fage Greek Yogurt (0%) + a few walnut halves + dash cinnamon all mixed + topped with fresh strawberries = hearty and filling! A powerful meal to get you through the morning - no more of those 10:30am hunger growls. I do wake up at 5am. But anyways.

Someone asked where I got this top. This was at Target a month or so ago, I think in the Maternity section. :) I use it as a bathing suit cover when I'm at the pool.

A reader asked where I found this frame. I picked it up Walmart for about 20 big ones. The white background comes with, and I didn't have to tape or glue anything in it, it's all static cling and doesn't move around too much. This way I can move things around as I collect more memorabilia.

Someone asked what kind of head-gear I run in. And well, I'm still figuring it out. It's really hot here in Texas and I sweat A LOT. When it starts running in my eyes, it's really painful. All that salty water is miserable. (It happened really bad during my half-marathon, I nearly closed my eyes running the last 4 miles.) So, I like these kinds of headbands that I pull down over my forehead as the sweat begins to flow. I also love hats! The old plastic headbands I used to use to just keep my bangs out of my face are no longer going to cut it.

When asked about foam rolling: I do it almost every day. I'm just tight like a tiger, and without it, I'm miserable. I feel like a 900 year old woman. If you can suggest your favorite torture method, please do, I'm on the look out for more massaging techniques. This roller isn't quite cutting it anymore, I need something a little meaner!

I don't know about you, but I'm freaking tired! Crosfit nearly killed me on Wednesday. Fight Gone Bad is a nasty one, that's for sure. My body is whining and crying and groaning and moaning. I'm going to sleep early tonight, right after I finish this 7&7 and a delicious piece of home made pizza. :)

Whole wheat crust + green olives + broccoli + carrots + chicken + feta

This is the weekly Friday-Fill In from Wife of a Sailor. A chance for military spouses to learn a little bit more about each other, and all of my other awesome readers, too.

1. What is one of the things you always do special when your husband returns from a deployment?  submitted by Keep Calm and Soldier On

Since my husband and I haven't been through a deployment yet together, I can't say. But, I have been through field missions, CQ and long days at work. I always have a healthy mean in the works for him, the lights dimmed, the house cleaned, his PT's clean for the morning, a lunch packed, and everything settled, so that all he has to do is relax.

2. What do you do to help your spouse and/or yourself re-adjust after a deployment or long separation?  submitted by Diapers, Dogs and Deployments

I try to remember that IT'S ALL SMALL STUFF. Don't sweat it! I think too much of the time I take things too personally. I think we all can at times.

3. Are you a crazy coupon clipper (I’m becoming one, so share your secrets with me)?  submitted by Married My Airman

I have never clipped in my life! I do save an occasional one when I'm reading the paper or see one inside product packaging, but do I actively seek out coupons? Nope. We don't have a printer, and I have no idea where to look anyways!

4. What’s your most treasured memory of you and your spouse (not counting your wedding – that’s a given)? submitted by Scrubs, ACUs and One Crazy Ride
It would have to be one of two things: either when Huzzy took me to Ruby Beach for a few hours during our honeymoon (he wouldn’t tell me where we were going) or going whitewater rafting with him a year and a half ago.

5. If you could live anywhere overseas, what would you pick and why? submitted by Little Moments Like This
I'd love to live in Italy or Germany. Maybe one day the Army will take us there. :)

Bluebonnet 10k in the morning with my lovely hubs, must get some rest!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!
