Balls to the Wall

Sunday was like Sunday's should be: a day of rest! For the perfect Sunday: Go see the Mechanic. Jason Statham is almost as hot as my husband. Bring your own popcorn (pop 100 calorie bags and stick in a ziploc, hide in your purse) to save yourself $12 and 3,987 calories. :) Stop at Rosa's Tortilla Factory on your way home and eat tamales and chicken fajitas. Be silly and take a photo in their colorful bathroom. Skip the Superbowl, everything you need to know, the news and your friends will tell you.

Stuff I Love:

If only we had a Forever 21 closer to home. ;)

What we do have is a Buckle!

Hoping to just lose a few more el-bee's before jeans shopping again. I'm moving in another belt hole though, so things are looking good! From a 27 to a 26 waist? Yes, yes, yes!

On the fitness front, today's workout was out. of. control.

150 wall ball shots for time.

Wall ball shots are an incredible way to improve endurance and stamina. They also challenge all of the other general physical skills: balance, coordination, accuracy, agility, power, speed, strength, and flexibility.  -Crossfit Ocean City

"The movement begins as a front squat and follows through to a push press/shove that sends the ball up and forward to the target from which it rebounds back to the throwers outstretched arms where it is “absorbed” back into the squat. In its entirety the wall-ball is quite simply a throw." From the Crossfit Journal.

  • Start the rep standing up and holding the ball
  • Squat to full depth squat
  • Ball is thrown and touches the wall above the tape, paint, etc.
In our gym, it's a yellow line about 9 feet high.

Whatever, a squat with a 15 pound ball thrown 9 feet high is hard. After the first 25 I had no idea what I'd gotten myself into. 6 minutes later, all 150 were complete.

I finished off the workout with some rowing, GHD situps, pulls ups, presses, push ups, etc. Those 6 minutes of wall ball shots burned me out though, the rest of the workout was draining! I couldn't even hold a plank for more than 30 seconds! Usually I do 3 sets of 1 minute!

Checked this out at the library today. We were at Clothing & Sales, and I saw it in their little literary section, about 10 pages in I didn't want to spend the $15 on it, but knew I wanted to read it. Thank you, Casey Memorial Library! :)

Dinner was delicious. Ground turkey + fresh veggies: sweet onion, red bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, chopped up + sauteed in EVOO + topped with an avocado + drizzled in a little Tobascy!

It's Cake Boss time and cabernet time. My legs are still wobbling from those wall balls.
